Ganges water level nears warning line in Rishikesh, administration alert

Rishikesh. Incessant rains in Uttarakhand have increased the water level of the rivers. The rivers are in spate and in view of this an alert has been issued in all the districts of the state. The water level of the tributaries of Ganga has increased due to torrential rains in the hilly areas for the last two days. The effect of which has also been seen on the water level of Ganga in Rishikesh.
The water level of Ganga in Rishikesh has reached near the warning line. According to the Central Water Commission office, the warning line of Ganga in Rishikesh is 339.50 meters. The level of Ganga here reached 339.25 meters on Wednesday morning. Water has reached till the Aarti place in Triveni Ghat.
There was light sunshine in Rishikesh and surrounding areas in the morning. After which it has become cloudy again. It has not rained since Tuesday afternoon. There is a possibility of rain again on Wednesday. It is estimated that once again it will rain heavily from the sky.
In view of the rising water level of the Ganga, everyone was alerted by the police administration and the municipal corporation through the public announcement system in the coastal settlements here in the past. Kotwali in-charge Inspector KR Pandey told that the deployment of water police along with the police team has been done in the concerned area
