SOG and police arrested, an accomplice involved in smuggling absconding
Haldwani. SOG and police have caught a youth resident of Bageshwar, who was admitted for kidney stone operation in a private hospital located at Mukhani intersection, with two skins of Guldar. One of his associates involved in smuggling is said to be absconding.
While disclosing the case in the multipurpose building located at Kotwali on Friday, SSP Prahlad Narayan Meena said that if the police team had not reached the hospital on time, the main accused would have also escaped, because he had got himself discharged. SSP said, on Friday, on the information of informer, Mukhani police station and SOG team conducted a checking operation in a private hospital and there a young man was caught with two skins of Guldar. He had hidden the heifer’s skin in his bag. During interrogation, the accused revealed his name as Naveen Chandra, resident of Kapkot Bageshwar. The accused was admitted to a private hospital on 12th September, before the kidney stone operation on 13th, the doctors had put a stent in him and asked him to come after ten days. Meanwhile, he was also trying to sell the skins. But the police caught him.
