Raghunandan, a resident of Jawahar Jyoti Damuwadhunga in Kathgodam area, is a home guard. According to the police, his 15-year-old daughter Shagun was a class IX student. Her result was declared on Saturday. Her grades were low in some subjects. Raghunandan returned home with his daughter during the day with the result and 10th course.
When her grades were low, he asked his daughter to work hard in her studies. After this, he left for night duty on Saturday. At around 2:30 in the night, Raghunandan’s wife called him and told him that Shagun had hanged herself. He rushed home. His daughter was hanging with a dupatta tied to the grill above the door. She was brought to Base Hospital. It was too late by then. Police conducted the post-mortem of the body on Sunday.
