Haldwani. Due to the rains in the mountainous region, the dry river falling on the way to Vijaypur village in Goalapar came in spate. Because of which school students and employed people also got trapped. On information, SDM Manish Kumar and Tehsildar Sachin Kumar also reached the spot. The SDM dropped a girl student studying in GGIC School located at Kaladhungi Road from her vehicle to the school.
There are about 500 people in Vijaypur village of Gaulapar. The villagers have to cross a dry riverbed to reach home. Dry’s mood is towards its name. No water on other days. But as soon as the rainy season starts, it starts booming. To overcome this crisis, the villagers have been demanding a bridge for a long time. But due to the dispute over the forest land, the decision regarding the land could not be taken yet.
Due to the rain on Monday morning, drought took a fierce form, due to which school children and villagers working in Haldwani got trapped. As soon as the information was received, SDM Manish Kumar and Tehsildar Sachin Kumar reached the river bank. People were appealed to stay away from the water in view of the danger.
