Haldwani. The journey from Haldwani to Munsiyari, Pithoragarh and Champawat is going to become easier from Thursday. A seven-seater helicopter of Heritage Aviation Company will fly from Haldwani to all three areas and later return to Haldwani. This heli service is also expected to increase tourism business.
It takes several hours to travel from Haldwani to Munsiyari, Pithoragarh and Champawat. The Central Government and CM Pushkar Singh Dhami had promised to promote mountain tourism and start heli service in view of the problems of the local people. In this sequence, Heritage Aviation prepared to start helicopter service.
On February 2, a trial was conducted from Gaulapar Helipad for Munsiyari, Pithoragarh and Champawat. The helicopter reached all three places and returned to Haldwani. SDM Paritosh Verma said that the trial was conducted by the team of Heritage Aviation and UCADA. The DGCA team has approved the heli service after final trials. The seven seater helicopter will serve in two shifts daily.
Commercial flights from Dehradun to Pithoragarh started on February 2. Airline company Fly Big operates a 19-seater aircraft between Dehradun and Pithoragarh three days a week on Friday, Monday and Tuesday, but this service is being disrupted since last Friday. For the third consecutive time on Tuesday, the company’s aircraft could not take off from Dehradun. Due to flight cancellation, passengers traveling between Dehradun and Pithoragarh were disappointed. Here, Airport Manager of Fly Big Company, Hamid Khan said that due to operational reasons, air service between Dehradun and Pithoragarh is being disrupted. The passengers were informed about the cancellation of the flight a day in advance and the fare of all the passengers has also been refunded. He said that air service is expected to remain smooth from Friday.
The per person fare from Haldwani to Champawat has been kept at Rs 2500, for Pithoragarh at Rs 3000 and for Munsiyari at Rs 3500. Rent subsidy is being given by the government. This will be the schedule, the helicopter will take off from 9 am. It will run in two shifts, morning and evening. First thing in the morning, the helicopter from Haldwani will go to Munsiyari and then come back to Haldwani. After this, it will go from Haldwani to Pithoragarh and will come back to Haldwani. In the third round, it will go from Haldwani to Champawat and come back to Haldwani. Evening service will remain like this.
