High alert in Dehradun, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar after Haldwani violence

Dehradun. High alert is on in the state after the incident of stone pelting and arson in Vanphoolpura of Haldwani. Additional Director General of Police AP Anshuman has issued written instructions to the SSP and SP of all the districts to maintain law and order.
The Internet Media Cell has also been asked to remain on alert. No untoward incident was reported regarding Friday prayers on Friday, yet forces have been asked to be deployed around all religious places in the state.
After the Vanphoolpura incident, the police force in the state was on alert mode since Thursday night. To maintain peace and order in their respective districts, the in-charges of all the districts themselves visited sensitive places and issued instructions to keep vigil on religious places.
Officers and employees posted in police stations, offices and police lines have been kept on high alert mode to deal with emergency situations and have been kept in a state of readiness 24 hours with sticks, batons and helmets.
Additional Director General of Police AP Anshuman said that the situation remains normal in the state. The SSP of the concerned district has been directed to provide proper treatment to the policemen who were injured due to stone pelting in Vanphoolpura. He said that all those who were involved in this incident will be identified and action will be taken against them. Those pelting stones will not be spared under any circumstances. After the incident in Haldwani, apart from Muslim dominated districts Dehradun, surveillance was increased in other districts including Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar, Pauri. A large number of police forces were deployed around the mosques here, so that no tense situation arises. In all the districts, SSP and SP briefed the force in the morning itself, and issued instructions to remain deployed at all times to deal with any situation.
