In the capital, thugs escaped after giving a lift in a car to a woman and taking off her jewellery.

A woman who went shopping in the market was robbed of her jewelery on the pretext of giving her a bag full of notes.

Dehradun. The car riders stole jewelery from a woman going from Dehradun to Chamba Tehri and fled away. The accused threatened the woman that further checking was going on and took the jewelery from her. Police have started searching for the accused car riders. Based on the footage of CCTV cameras, the police chased the car and reached Haridwar.
The incident took place at 11 pm. Sarojini Gusai, a resident of Shanti Vihar Nehru Colony, has shifted to Chamba some time ago. On Saturday, the woman was going to Chamba, and was waiting for the bus at Haridwar bypass. Meanwhile, a car stopped in front of them, in which three-four youths were traveling. When he asked the woman where to go, the woman told that she had to go to Tehri Chamba. The accused said that they were also going to Tehri, so they would drop them on the way.
Even before Mohkampur, the accused stopped the car and said that further checking was going on. So take off your jewellery. Out of fear the woman took off her jewellery. After going a short distance, the accused took the jewelery from the woman, made her get out of the car and ran away with the jewellery. Told that the car riders took away the woman’s gold earrings, ring and chain. After receiving the information, the police started searching for the accused. Outpost incharge Jogiwala Balveer Doval said that the accused are being searched.
The thugs ran away with a bracelet from a woman who came to the market. The thugs gave the bag to the woman and said that it contained eight lakh rupees. When the thugs took the bracelet, the woman opened the bag. There was no money in the bag. Police have registered a case and started searching for the accused.
SHO Kotwali Rakesh Gusain told that Harvinder Kaur, resident of Bhagat Namdev Enclave, had come to Paltan Bazaar. They found two youths there. The youth said that they had come from Mussoorie and they had eight lakh rupees from the owner. He showed the bag and said that money was kept in it. In return the youth asked for bracelets from the woman. The woman took off the bracelets and handed over the bag to the woman. Meanwhile, both the youths made excuses and ran away from there. When the woman opened the bag, it turned out to be empty.
The woman searched for the youth for a long time, but no one came there. Inspector said that a case has been registered on the complaint of woman Harvinder Kaur. CCTV cameras of nearby shops are being checked. The accused will be arrested soon.
