IRCTC to book heli tickets for Kedarnath Yatra instead of GMVN

Tickets will be available from the first come first served system
Dehradun
. Booking of heli tickets for Kedarnath Yatra will now be completely online. Till now, GMVN used to book tickets for heli service, with 70 per cent tickets booked online and 30 per cent offline from ticket counters. The government has now removed this work from GMVN and handed over it to Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). While 70 per cent of the tickets will normally be booked online through the IRCTC website, 30 per cent will be in the Tatkal category, with bookings being on-the-spot. This will prevent black marketing of tickets. There will also be passenger facilities.
The Civil Aviation Development Authority has taken this decision to curb black marketing of tickets in compliance with the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and to get rid of tickets received at arbitrary prices. Civil Aviation Secretary Dilip Jawalkar said that IRCTC has a strong system of railway ticket booking. An agreement was signed with IRCTC. Earlier, the Garhwal Mandal Development Corporation used to book tickets online. In which 70 percent of the tickets were booked online and 30 percent from the ticket counter. But now all tickets will be booked online.
For Kedarnath Dham, heli seva is operated from three places Guptkashi, Sirsi and Phata. Passengers taking heli tickets in tatkal category will have to reach these helipads. These tickets will be issued to them on a first-come-first-served basis on the day of travel.
