Iron bridge on Dhauliganga river connecting Niti valley in Chamoli district broken, fell into Trek river

Vehicles diverted through alternative route, BRO started construction of bridge on Dhauliganga

Chamoli. The iron bridge over Dhauliganga river connecting Niti Valley in Chamoli district suddenly broke down. This stopped the traffic.
Colonel Ankur Mahajan, Commander, Border Roads Organisation, posted at Border Roads Organization Joshimath, said that at around 4.30 pm yesterday, the valley bridge on the Dhauliganga river connecting Niti Valley in Burans near Malari suddenly broke down.
A truck also fell into the river due to the incident, he said. However, there has been no loss of life or property. He said that after getting information about the incident, BRO officials reached the spot and the construction of the bridge has been started. Vehicles have been diverted through an alternate route. BRO said that a bridge is being constructed on Dhauliganga for traffic, which will be completed by tomorrow
