Dehradun/Kedarnath: Due to the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan, after reviewing the air activities across the country, the heli service of Kedarnath was stopped for a few hours. However, now after getting clearance from the Central Air Traffic Control (ATC), this service has been started again smoothly. DG Information Banshidhar Tiwari confirmed that now the Kedarnath heli service is operating normally.
The temporary halt of heli services due to review of air activities had affected the Char Dham Yatra. CEO of Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) Sonika said that the service was stopped due to some technical reasons related to NOC (No Objection Certificate) and approval, which has now been removed. Currently, helicopter services are running normally in all the four Dhams – Kedarnath, Badrinath, Yamunotri and Gangotri.
Here, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a review meeting of state-level preparations in compliance with the guidelines issued by the central government. In this meeting, Char Dham Yatra, security arrangements, heli services and preparations to deal with emergency were discussed. All senior officials and all district magistrates participated in the meeting through virtual medium.
