Kidnapping of a child on the pretext of feeding him chow mein, clue was found in CCTV footage
Haridwar. Police have recovered a six-year-old boy who was kidnapped four days ago from Sidkul area and arrested three accused including a female employee of Patanjali. Investigation revealed that the woman wanted a son and had purchased the child from the accused by striking a deal for Rs 1 lakh. All three have been produced in the court and sent to jail.
While exposing the incident of child kidnapping and horse-trading, SSP Ajay Singh said that on September 9, Subhash Prajapati’s six-year-old son had gone missing while playing outside the house from Shubham Vihar Colony of Sidcul Industrial Area. A case was registered against unknown kidnappers and investigation was conducted.
The identity of the kidnappers was ascertained by scanning the footage of CCTV cameras. On receiving important clues, a police team under the leadership of Police Station Head Naresh Rathod, on the information of the informer, arrested Ravindra resident of village Bamnoli Doghat district Baghpat Uttar Pradesh and Janak Singh resident of village Nagwa police station Budhana district Muzaffarnagar. On their information, the kidnapped child was recovered from the house of Shagun, resident of Meerut, Uttar Pradesh Hall, resident of Green City Sidcul.
During interrogation of the accused, it was revealed that Shagun, who worked in Patanjali, had a daughter in 2007. After that there were no children, although Shagun wanted a son. When Ravindra, who worked as a laborer in the industrial area, was contacted, he told the plan to his friend Janak and out of greed, both of them kidnapped the child on the pretext of feeding him chow mein and handed him over to Shagun.
SSP told that Shagun had given advance of Rs 30 thousand. It was decided to pay the remaining amount in three-four days. Out of the amount taken in advance, cash worth Rs 20 thousand has also been recovered. The accused have been produced in the court and sent to jail. During this, SP Crime Rekha Yadav, SP City Swatantra Kumar Singh, CO Sadar Swapnil Muyal were present.
