Makar Sankranti bathing begins in Haridwar, crowd of devotees gathered at Harki Paidi since morning

Vehicles will not ply from Chandi Chowk to Valmiki Chowk and Shivmurti Chowk to Harki Paidi.

The police has issued a traffic and parking plan for the Makar Sankranti bathing festival. The passenger-dominated area has been declared a zero traffic zone, in which there will be a zero zone from Chandi Chowk to Valmiki Chowk and Shivmurti Chowk. There will be zero zone from Shivmurti Chowk to Harki Paidi. There will be zero zone from Bhimgowda barrier to Harki Paidi. SSP Pramendra Singh Dobal said that on the Makar Sankranti bathing festival, entry of all heavy vehicles will be restricted in the urban area of Haridwar from 5 pm on Sunday to 6 pm on Monday.
According to the traffic plan, vehicles coming from Delhi, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar will come from Narasan, Mangalore Core College-Khyati Chowk and will stop at Alaknanda-Deendayal-Pantdweep-Chamgadad Island. As traffic pressure increases, vehicles will also be parked on the service lanes of Khyati Dhaba and Gurukul Kangri University.
The vehicles of devotees coming from Punjab-Haryana for bathing will come via Bhagwanpur-Salier-Bijauli Chowk via Nagla Imarti-Core College-Bahadarabad Bypass-Harilok Tiraha-Gurukul Kangri. These vehicles will be parked at Alaknanda-Deendayal-Pantdweep-Bat Island. The vehicles of devotees coming from Najibabad for bathing will be parked at Deendayal-Pantdweep-Bat Island. Whereas big vehicles will be diverted from 4.2 in Shyampur to Gaurishankar-Neeldhara parking. Similarly, vehicles coming from Dehradun and Rishikesh will come from Raiwala Dudhadhari Tiraha and will park in Motichur parking. Parking has been made at Rishikul grounds for the vehicles of devotees coming for bathing from Sidkul and Shivalik Nagar. Tourist buses and tractor trolleys coming from Delhi will be parked at Rishikul Maidan Safe Parking and Hariram Inter College.
As traffic pressure increases, a diversion plan has also been made for autos, Vikram and e-rickshaws. Autos coming from Dehradun and Rishikesh, Vikram, will be sent back by taking a U-turn from Jairam turn. Auto-Vikram and e-rickshaws coming from Jwalapur will return from Shivmurti Tiraha via Tulsi Chowk to Devpura Tiraha. Auto-Vikram and e-rickshaw coming from Jagjitpur will return from Singhdwar. Autos, Vikrams, e-rickshaws coming from Kankhal will return from Tulsi Chowk. Vikram coming from BHEL, auto rickshaw will return from inside Rishikul Tiraha via Tibri Gate, Old Ranipur turn via Bhagat Singh Chowk. Autos, Vikram and e-rickshaws coming from Hill Bypass will return from Bilkeshwar Tirahe.
