Medical student commits suicide by hanging herself in hotel room

Rishikesh incident, suicide note found, blamed himself for death

Rishikesh. A medical student hanged herself in a hotel room in Tapovan. The student was a resident of Chhattisgarh. She was a third-year MBBS student at a medical college in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. Police found the student’s suicide note from the room.
According to the police, manoj Rawat, an employee of Hotel Durga Palace in Tapovan, informed the police that a young woman staying in his hotel had not opened the door of the room for a long time. Roli Vaishnav (21), daughter of Shiv Shankar Vaishnav, a resident of Kharsia in Chhattisgarh’s Raigarh district, had been staying in his hotel since March 10. But since the evening of March 11, the young woman did not open the door of her room. The hotel staff knocked on the door of the room several times, even after that there was no sound from inside nor the door opened. Station House Officer Ritesh Shah said that when the policemen broke open the door and entered, they found the young woman hanging from the dupatta trap on the fan inside.
Police found a suicide note written in English on a register inside. It was written that ‘no one is responsible for my death, I am doing this on my own free will’. Police said there was blood in the bathroom of the room and there was also a blood-stained blade. The body has been sent to AIIMS Rishikesh for post-mortem.
