Municipal driver suspended for pressing government medicines into pit

At the behest of the doctor, the driver had pressed 40 pieces of medicine in the pit, the sword hanged on the doctor.

A JCB driver has been suspended for allegedly dumping 40 cartons of government medicines worth lakhs of rupees in a pit at Bairagi camp here, police said on Sunday. The driver had pressed the medicines by digging a pit with the corporation’s JCB at the behest of a doctor. Now the sword of action is hanging on the doctor too. On Wednesday, the Director General of Health and the Director of Health conducted an on-site inspection of the Bairagi camp.
On the instructions of District Magistrate Vinay Shankar Pandey, SDM Puran Singh Rana had pulled out several pieces of medicines buried in the pit from the JCB at Bairagi Camp on Tuesday. This caused a stir. On Wednesday, Director General of Health Bharti Rana and Health Director Sunita Tamta reached Haridwar. Bairagi inspected the camp, immediately after which the Director General of Health and director visited the CMO office.
After reaching the CMO office, he scanned the documents of all community health centers khanpur, luxor, Bahadrabad, Imlikheda, Narsan, Jwalapur, Bhagwanpur, Mangalore center of the district. During this time, doctors and health workers of the community health center were questioned for hours in closed rooms.
Investigation revealed that the JCB through which 40 cartons of government medicines were pressed into the pit at Bairagi camp belonged to Haridwar Municipal Corporation. Orders have been issued to suspend municipal drivers.
