New policy implemented to promote cultivation of improved varieties of apple in the state, 60 percent subsidy will be available

Orchard can be planted individually or collectively from two drains to 100 drains, facilities will be applicable for very intensive cultivation of apple.

Dehradun. If you are looking for employment opportunities in horticulture then get ready. Uttarakhand government has duly implemented the new policy to promote the cultivation of improved varieties of apple in the state. Under this, the government will give subsidy of sixty percent of the cost on planting a garden.
From two drains to 100 drains, gardens can be planted individually or collectively. A target has been set to establish apple orchards of improved varieties in five thousand hectares in the state in the next eight years. Under this scheme, Rs 725.58 crore is to be given to farmers as subsidy.
Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Secretary Deependra Kumar Chaudhary said that guidelines have been issued for the Apple Mission. These facilities will be applicable to very intensive cultivation of apple. The garden can be planted in an area of two to 100 drains. Gardens can be developed individually or collectively. Farmers will get two options to plant gardens. They can develop a garden with the help of department approved companies or can plant a garden themselves. Separate orders will be issued soon for the application process and annual target for setting up a garden.
Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi said-
There is immense potential for apple cultivation in Uttarakhand.
While new improved species are developed in less time, they also yield more production. Apple farming is expected to create about 50 thousand new employment opportunities.
