Dehradun. During the Char Dham Yatra this year in the state, the Civil Aviation Department is starting heli service from Gauchar to Badrinath. Its one-way fare will be Rs 3970. This does not include GST and convenience fee of IRCTC for booking heli. This fee will be payable separately.
Heli services are operated for Kedarnath every year during the Char Dham Yatra in the state. These heli services are operated from Guptkashi, Fata and Sirsi.
As of now there is no heli service to Badrinath. This year, the Civil Aviation Department has decided to operate the heli service for Hemkund Sahib also for Badrinath Dham for some time. Tenders have been made for this. This heli service will operate between Gauchar and Badrinath. It will also be run between Govindghat to Badrinath. The rental rate for this has almost been fixed. Chief Executive Officer of Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Department, C Ravi Shankar said that tenders have been made for this. The rental rate has also been fixed. If the heli service on this route is successful this year, its number can be increased next year.
