Nurse raped in Moradabad, doctor held nurse hostage in private hospital and raped her

Moradabad. In a private hospital, a doctor held a nurse hostage and raped her on Saturday night. On Sunday morning, the nurse reached home and informed her family about the incident. Police registered a case against three people including the doctor on the complaint of the nurse’s father. In this case, the police have arrested the doctor, while two other accused are being questioned.

A villager of Dilari police station area gave a complaint to the police and told that his 20-year-old daughter has been working as a nurse in a hospital located on Thakurdwara-Kashipur Road for 10 months. On Saturday evening at around seven o’clock, his daughter went to the hospital for duty. It is alleged that a nurse posted in the hospital itself told the daughter as part of a conspiracy that Dr. Shahnawaz has called her to his room.

When the daughter refused to go to the doctor, ward boy Junaid and Mehnaz forcibly took her to Dr. Shahnawaz’s room above the hospital and locked the room from outside. At around 12 o’clock in the night, the doctor held the nurse hostage and raped her. The doctor also used casteist words and threatened to kill her.
The doctor also took the nurse’s mobile in his possession. When the head nurse of the hospital came on Sunday morning, the victim complained to her and she was sent home. The victim reached home and told her family about her ordeal. The police registered a report against Dr. Shahnawaz resident Rajpur Kesaria, nurse Mehnaz and ward boy Junaid under rape, SC-ST Act and other sections. The accused doctor was arrested and the victim was medically examined. The nurse and ward boy have also been taken into custody and are being questioned. Kotwali in-charge inspector Rajiv Chaudhary said that the victim’s statement has not been recorded yet.
On the instructions of the CMO, the health department team inspected the hospital with the police on Sunday evening. The CHC superintendent sent a team of Dr. Intekhab Alam, pharmacist Kamal Singh Rawat and Ashu Gupta to the hospital and inquired about the condition of the patients admitted there, so that the patients could be shifted if the hospital is sealed. About nine patients were found admitted in the hospital. CO Rajesh Kumar says that a report has been filed against three people including the accused doctor. Dr. Shahnawaz is said to have a BUMS degree.
