Police head constable killed after being hit by boulder on highway in Ojri Dabarkot

Police constables were deputed to ensure safe passage of vehicles of pilgrims

A landslide occurred on Sunday at Ozri Dabarkot, which became a canker on the Yamunotri Highway in Uttarakhand. During this, the head constable of the police on duty there died after being hit by the boulder. The police constable was posted at Dabarkot to ensure safe passage of the vehicles of the pilgrims.
According to information, constable Chaman Singh Tomar, age 37, resident of Bansu Lakhwad Chakrata, Dehradun, Dabarkot, was getting vehicles safely passed from the landslide zone on Sunday evening. Then suddenly stones fell from the landslide zone. Constable Chaman Singh Tomar also came under the grip of a stone, due to which he fell on the road itself. The same home guard Sagar rescued the injured constable.
Seeing the injured constable, the pilgrim Chandrashekhar s/o Prabhudayal resident of Nehru Nagar, Indore Madhya Pradesh shifted the relatives and pilgrims sitting in his vehicle to another vehicle. The injured constable was taken to CHC Badkot in his vehicle. Where doctors declared Chaman Singh Tomar dead. The same CO Barkot Surendra Singh Bhandari says that the family members have been informed about the panchnama of the dead body
