Police negligence, dead body of Hindu youth buried, huge uproar by family members

. A major negligence of the police has come to light in the case of missing persons. The police conducted post-mortem of the youth’s body without any investigation and buried it in the cemetery. Despite the young man having a religious symbol on his hand, the police did not perform the last rites as per customs. Angered by this, the family members created a ruckus. The police took the body out of the cemetery and cremated it in the cremation ground.
At the same time, police officials are talking about investigation and action against the concerned Inspector in the case. Amit Sharma, resident of Adarshnagar, Civil Lines Kotwali area, had filed a missing complaint on February 15 that his brother Shivam Sharma is a graduate student. He had gone missing from home since February 13. The police had registered his missing person and started searching for the young man.
Along with this, information about the youth’s disappearance was provided from nearby police stations and police stations. Meanwhile, on February 17, Mangalore Kotwali police had recovered a dead body from Ganganahar. The police had posted the photo of the body on WhatsApp group and sent it to Roorkee Civil Hospital for post-mortem but the police did not make any effort to identify the body.
As per rules, the body was kept in the mortuary for 72 hours for identification. After this, after the post-mortem on February 21, the police buried the body in the cemetery without any investigation. The family kept searching for the young man. Meanwhile, the family members got information that the body of a youth has been recovered by Mangalore Police from Ganganahar.
When the family reached the police station, the police showed them the photo of the dead body and the family recognized it. Meanwhile, the family came to know that the police had buried him in the cemetery, showing him as abandoned. Angered by this, the family members created a ruckus on Friday and accused the police of gross negligence. Also complained about the matter to the SSP and demanded action. In the presence of Additional Tehsildar Dayaram, who arrived on information, the police took out the body from the grave and performed its last rites. On the other hand, SSP Pramendra Dobal said that instructions have been given to investigate the matter. Also, action will be taken against the concerned Inspector.
