The Health Department has geared up to provide the facility of doli to pregnant women. In inaccessible areas, voters above 85 years of age and disabled voters will get the facility of doli.
Voting for the first phase of Lok Sabha elections in the state is to be held on April 19. This time, the Election Department is also running a special campaign along with public awareness to increase the voting percentage in the elections. Under this, the Chief Electoral Officer of the state, Dr. BVRC Purushottam held a meeting with health department officials. In which he ordered the department to make arrangements for handcarts to transport disabled, elderly and pregnant women voters living in hilly areas to the polling place.
After the meeting with the Chief Electoral Officer, Director General of Health Dr. Vineeta Shah has instructed the Chief Medical Officers of all other districts of the state except Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts to make arrangements for handcarts to bring pregnant women voters to the polling place. Let it be done. Apart from this, this facility has also been asked to be provided to elderly voters above 85 years of age and disabled people. The Director General of Health has instructed all the CMOs to coordinate with the District Election Officer for the doli facility and ensure the arrangement of the doli.
