PUKIS closed 60 medical stores running without pharmacists in the capital.

Dehradun. Police raided and closed 60 medical stores running without pharmacists. On the orders of SSP Ajay Singh, 427 medical stores were inspected in the entire district. The police also instructed the store operators not to sell intoxicating materials.
Actually, the SSP had received complaints about medical stores selling drugs to the youth across the district. In view of this, the police launched a checking campaign on Saturday. During this period, valid licenses and degrees were sought from many stores. SSP said that during checking, irregularities were found in many stores. 60 stores were found which were running without degrees and operators. These stores were locked. Its report was also sent to the drug controller. He told that the police is adopting a strict attitude against drugs. Strict action will be taken against those medical operators who are not following the rules. It is wrong to provide any medicines to any minor or youth without doctor’s advice.
On the other hand, the sudden action of the police created panic among the medical store operators. Checking orders were given to all the police stations. As soon as the police team reached the medical stores, the operators were shocked. The police checked the valid licenses of all the store operators and the degree of pharmacist. Store operators have been given strict instructions not to sell drugs. A report has been made by the police about the stores where irregularities have been found. SSP said that a letter will be sent to the department to take action against medical stores as per rules. The report is being sent to the drug controller.
