Lalkuan: Two people died tragically in a horrific road accident in Lalkuan. The accident took place at around 1 o’clock last night in a cut made on the highway near Lalkuan Mistri Line in Transport Nagar area. It is said that a huge truck had broken down on the highway, blocking the road. Meanwhile, a car coming at high speed collided with the broken truck.
The two people in the car were taken to Sushila Tiwari Hospital in Haldwani in critical condition, where doctors declared them dead. The deceased have been identified as Pankaj Sharma (45 years, Ghaziabad) and Jagat Singh (45 years, Delhi). Both were residents of Haryana and were going to meet their brother in Nainital.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident was so severe that the car was completely damaged. Local people and police together pulled the injured out of the car and took them to the hospital.
The police have registered a case and started investigation. This accident once again raises serious questions about road safety.
