Rs 1.5 crore seized from youth’s bag, youth arrested

A young man was on board the Brahmaputra Mail from Delhi to Guwahati.

Lucknow: Rs 1.5 crore was found in the bag of a simple-looking youth at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction in Uttar Pradesh. A cold drink opener has also been found from the young man, on which some numbers are written in Chinese language. No valid documents related to cash have been found in the young man’s possession. The police have arrested the youth and seized the cash.
During checking at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Junction, the GRP arrested a man whose bag contained Rs 1.5 crore cash. He did not have any documents related to this amount. The GRP has arrested the youth and seized rs 1.5 crore in cash. All the seized notes are of Rs 500 and Rs 2,000 denominations. This person was going from Delhi to Howrah with so much cash. At present, the police have informed the Income Tax and other related investigating agencies in this regard.
At Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Junction, the RPF landed a man from the Brahmaputra Mail going from Delhi to Guwahati. When the police questioned the man on the basis of suspicion and searched the trolley bag present with him, the police were surprised. Grp personnel caught him and took him to the police station. During interrogation, he revealed his name as Ramesh Das.
