Shrikot Government Nursing College of Pauri will be named after Ankita Bhandari.

Dehradun. CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has made a big announcement two days before the first anniversary of the murder of Uttarakhand’s daughter Ankita Bhandari. CM Dhami said that the Government Nursing College Dobh (Shrikot) located in Srinagar, Pauri will be named after Ankita Bhandari. Now this Nursing College will be known as Ankita Bhandari Government Nursing College. CM said that we stand with Ankita’s family. Committed to ensuring respect and safety of every daughter of the state.
Ankita Bhandari, 19, resident of Srikotdobh village in Pauri district, worked as a receptionist at Vanantra Resort located in Ganga Bhogpur of Yamkeshwar block. Ankita suddenly disappeared on 18 September 2022. While investigating, the police had raised suspicion on resort owner Pulkit Arya, friend Ankit Gupta and resort manager Saurabh Bhaskar in Ankita’s disappearance. When interrogated by the police, everyone confessed to Ankita’s murder. He told that on September 18, he had pushed Ankita into the canal of Chilla Barrage. After this, Ankita’s body was recovered from the canal on 24 September.
On Friday, a hearing was held in the much talked about Ankita Bhandari murder case in the Additional District and Sessions Court. During the hearing, the statements of forensic unit member Sajjan Singh and electrician Kuldeep Singh were recorded. Kuldeep told the court that on September 18, Ankita was present in Vanantra Resort, whereas on September 19, there was an uproar in the resort due to Ankita’s disappearance.
Forensic Unit member Sajjan Singh said that the fingerprints of the accused are not matching on the glasses, cups, plates and walls of Ankita Bhandari’s room in Vanantra Resort. On September 23, the team had photographed and videographed Ankita’s room at Vanantra Resort.
