Shiv Sena (UBT) members accused of an event in Chembur area
New Delhi. Popular singer Sonu Nigam was allegedly assaulted by Shiv Sena (UBT) members late on Monday night. The incident took place at an event in Chembur area.
The assaulter asked the singer’s manager to get off the stage. When Sonu was coming, he pushed him. Sonu’s friend was also pushed. Both have sustained injuries. Later, a video went viral on internet media in which a man is seen pushing Sonu and his friend. After the incident, Sonu Nigam has lodged an FIR against the accused. Mumbai Police said that there was a dispute with Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam about taking a selfie at an event in Mumbai. One of Sonu’s associates was also injured in the alleged dispute. The incident took place around 11 pm when Nigam was in suburban Chembur to attend a music festival. While leaving the venue, a group of fans approached the singer for a selfie when two of his colleagues tried to stop him. Subsequently, the two associates of Sonu Nigam were beaten up by fans, causing minor injuries to one of them, the official said.
