Skin and leprosy are cured only by the sight of the mother

Devotees throng Sureshwari Devi temple on Navratri

Haridwar. The Sureswari Devi temple is also mentioned in Kedarkhand of Skanda Purana. It is believed that skin diseases and leprosy are cured only by the darshan of the mother. On the eighth and ninth day of Navratri, there is a crowd of devotees to see the mother.
Chandravanshis lost the battle with the son of King Raji and were expelled from heaven. Then a frightened Indra started the penance of Mother Bhagwati on the advice of Dev Guru Jupiter. Pleased with the prayer of Devraj Indra, Mother Bhagwati gave darshan to Indra at this place. The Sureswari Devi Temple being in the middle of the forest gives a chance to see the natural beauty and wildlife. In a calm environment, devotees feel a sense of inner peace.
The Sureswari Devi temple is about seven km from Haridwar railway and roadways station. The way to the temple goes from near the foundry gate of Ranipur area. Due to the forest complex, the forest department takes a ticket of Rs 50 per vehicle from private vehicles. Auto-e-rickshaws and Vikram also go to the temple from Ranipur mode.
