New Delhi. There is big news from the political corridors. Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh may get the responsibility as the Governor of Maharashtra.
The current Governor of Maharashtra, Bhagat Singh Koshyari, had expressed his desire to step down a few days ago. After this proposal of his, the round of discussions about Captain Amarinder Singh being made the Governor started. Captain has good relations with PM Narendra Modi. Captain Amarinder Singh has been included in the 83-member BJP National Executive. Captain had joined BJP some time back. His party Punjab Lok Congress was also merged with BJP.
According to information received from sources, Captain Amarinder Singh can be made the next Governor of Maharashtra.

The name also came in discussion for the post of Vice President

Captain Amarinder Singh’s name also came up for discussion for the post of Vice President earlier. However, later Jagdeep Dhankhar, who was the Governor of West Bengal, was made the BJP candidate for this post. At that time the Captain was undergoing treatment abroad, till then the Captain had kept his party separate. However, now Captain has come directly to BJP.
Recently, in a statement of Maharashtra Raj Bhavan, it was said that, Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has expressed his desire to spend the rest of his life in reading, writing and other leisure activities. Bhagat Singh Koshyari was constantly at loggerheads with the previous Maha Vikas Aghadi government led by Uddhav Thackeray. After this wish of his, speculations were being made that the Captain could be sent as the Governor of Maharashtra.
