Govt sets up Rs 200 crore venture fund to boost startups

Dehradun. To promote self-employment in the state, startups will now get a boost. This will provide employment to others along with the development of the area. Dhami Cabinet has approved the Start-up Policy. Development of 1000 startups including technology driven enterprises in the next five years will be promoted. Accredited startups or student-entrepreneur start-ups, whose projects will be approved by the task force. They will be given a monthly allowance of Rs 15000 per start-up and Rs 20,000 monthly allowance to startups with rural impact.
The government has set up a Rs 200 crore venture fund. The policy will promote student-entrepreneur start-ups to promote innovation and entrepreneurship at the school-college level itself. Start-ups will be given one-time seed funding of up to Rs 10 lakh. Women entrepreneurs and SC, ST, Divyang, Transgender and Start-ups with rural impact will get seed funding of Rs 12.5 lakh.
On patenting the innovation, an amount of up to Rs 1 lakh per patent will be given for it and Rs 5 lakh per patent for international patent. Rs 10,000 per trademark on filing of trade mark application

In view of the shortage of land for setting up industries in the state, industrial establishments will be opened in the private sector in collaboration with the Industries Department. own To set up an industrial zone, two acres of land will be required in the hilly area and 30 acres in the plain area. The Industrial Development Department will arrange roads, water and electricity etc. here. Private sectors will also be encouraged for development of textiles, aroma, automobile, IT, aerospace and defence, medicity, film sector etc. The government will provide financial assistance to the private sector for infrastructure development of Rs 10 lakh per acre and 40 per cent of fixed capital investment and a maximum of Rs 1 crore on CETP plant.
