Kotdwar. In the much talked about Ankita murder case, statements of two witnesses were recorded in the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Reena Negi on Friday. Ankita’s advocate and Bar Association President Ajay Pant said that at the time of the incident, the statements of Ashish Purohit, a contractual employee appointed at the Chilla Forest Check Post, and Sandhya Negi, a female sub-inspector involved in the forensic investigation, were recorded.
Advocate Pant said that the court has kept the next date as 8th September. On the other hand, in the court, the main accused Pulkit Arya was brought to the base hospital due to his ill health. Where he was sent back to jail after treatment.
Ankita Bhandari, working as a receptionist at Vanantra Resort located in Ganga Bhogpur revenue area, suddenly went missing on 18 September 2022. The father had filed a missing case of the daughter, but when there was no trace of Ankita, the regular police detained Vanantra Resort owners Pulkit Arya, Ankit Gupta and Saurabh Bhaskar and interrogated them. On the behest of the three, Ankita’s body was recovered from Chilla Barrage.
