Stone pelting on team that went to remove encroachment from government land, one home guard injured

Police chased the encroachers using force, Dehradun incident

Dehradun. The slum dwellers pelted stones at the team that went to remove encroachment from government land in Dehradun. In which a home guard has suffered serious injuries. Police used force to drive away the encroachers from the spot.
Illegally built slums on Municipal Corporation land in Ekta Vihar located on Sahasradhara Road were removed last Saturday. But, on Sunday, all 20 shanties were up again. On getting the information of which the Municipal Corporation team went for action on Monday. Corporation’s Land Tax Superintendent Rahul Kainthola said that stones were pelted at the team during the removal of illegal slums in Ekta Vihar on Monday. In which Municipal Corporation’s home guard Ajay Negi got a deep head injury. Ajay is admitted to the hospital. Along with this, a written complaint has been given against the accused in Raipur police station. In the presence of the police, the corporation’s team removed the slums by driving away the encroachers. However, the corporation is making arrangements to ensure that the said land is not occupied again. There are many more slums in the area which have been built illegally on corporation land, which will be removed soon
