Sugar mill employee shot dead in Haridwar

The employee was going from Ferpur Pathri by loading sugarcane in a tractor-trolley.

Haridwar. Miscreants shot dead a contract employee of a sugar mill on the Haridwar-Delhi highway. The employee was going to the mill from Ferpurpur, Pathri by loading sugarcane in a tractor-trolley. A case of murder has been registered against unknown miscreants.
According to the police, Netrapal Baliyan (56), resident of village Karunda Hathi, police station Babri, district Shamli, Uttar Pradesh, used to work as a tractor driver under a contractor at Uttam Sugar Mill during the crushing season. The mill has a sugarcane center in village Ferupur, Thana Pathri. Netrapal was going there on Saturday night after loading sugarcane in a tractor-trolley. Late on Saturday night, when he reached near Peerpur Bijauli bypass of Haridwar-Delhi Highway, miscreants shot him dead. Some time after the massacre, some car riders passing through the bypass caught sight of him. He informed the police. The driver was shot in the chest. The deceased’s son, Shivam Baliyan, told the police that his father had been driving a tractor during the crushing season at Uttam Sugar Mill for years. There was a conversation with the father and the family on Saturday evening also. Inspector Pradeep Bisht said that the body has been taken into custody and sent for post-mortem. A case of murder has been registered on the complaint of the deceased’s son. The reason for the murder and the exact number of murderers are not yet known.
