Dehradun. Roadways management has instructed bus drivers and conductors to strictly follow the rules. The management has also warned of fines for violating the rules.
According to the order of Divisional Manager (Operations), Roadways, Sanjay Gupta, a fine of Rs 50,000 will be imposed if the driver is found talking on the phone while driving the bus. If the conductor does not complain in the depot by making a video of the driver while talking on the mobile, then five thousand rupees will also be recovered from him. If the bus is of contract category, the driver will be removed from service. Ten thousand rupees will also be recovered from the owner of that bus.
Gupta said that complaints are being received about the drivers of Volvo buses talking on mobile phones while driving. It was also learned that even after protesting by the passengers, the drivers were showing obstinacy. Due to this, where the image of the roadways gets tarnished, there is also a possibility of accidents. He said that all the conductors have been instructed that if the driver talks on the mobile phone while driving the bus, make a video of it and send it to the assistant general manager of the depot.
