Rudrapur. A major accident occurred when a tear gas gun shell exploded in Police Line Rudpur on Wednesday afternoon. SSP Manjunath TC and RI Manish Sharma were injured in the accident. This accident happened during the inspection of DIG Kumaon.
According to the information received, DIG Kumaon, Yogendra Rawat was inspecting Police Line Rudpur on Wednesday. SSP Udham Singh Nagar, Manjunath TC were also with him during the inspection. During the inspection, SSP Manjunath TC started holding the tear gas gun and giving its demo to the police personnel present there, when suddenly the shell in the barrel of the gun burst. SSP Manjunath TC and RI Manish Sharma got injured due to this. The police personnel present on the spot took both the officers to a private hospital for treatment. Where the condition of both is said to be out of danger. RI Manish Sharma said that there was not much injury in the accident. He is being treated in the hospital.
