Haridwar. In Bahadarabad police station area, an encounter took place between the police and the miscreants who robbed Sri Balaji Jewelers. One miscreant was shot in the retaliatory firing. On being taken to the hospital, the doctors declared him dead. The miscreant is said to be a resident of Punjab. The second miscreant managed to escape. The police is engaged in the search of the absconding accused. SSP Pramod Singh Dobal reached the spot and gathered information. According to the police, the incident took place on Sunday night. When the police team was checking at BHEL intersection in Bahadarabad area. Then two suspects were seen coming on a motorcycle without a number plate, as soon as the police team moved forward to stop both of them, the miscreants opened fire on the police and fled towards Dhanauri. As soon as the information was received, police force of many police stations including Bahadarabad, Ranipur, Jwalapur reached the spot. Police and CIU team chased the miscreants. While going from Bahadarabad to Dhanouri, the miscreant again opened fire on the police. The police retaliated, in which a miscreant was shot in the chest and other places and he fell down. While the other miscreant managed to escape from the spot.
The police sent the injured miscreant to the district hospital. Where the doctors declared him dead. A team conducted a search operation till late night in search of the absconded. As soon as the information was received, all the top officials including Police Captain Pramod Singh Dobal, SP City Swatantra Kumar Singh, CO Jwalapur Natasha Singh reached the spot and took information about the incident. SSP Pramod Singh Dobal said that the miscreant was injured due to bullet injury in the encounter. When taken to the hospital, the doctor declared him dead. The miscreant’s belongings found at the spot are being investigated. The face of the miscreant killed in the encounter resembles the miscreant who carried out the robbery. It would be premature to say that these are the same miscreants.
