Land dispute in Vikas Nagar, another youth was also shot and injured
Dehradun. Fearless miscreants who were threatening a woman with a pistol over a land issue shot dead an elderly man who came to intervene. In this incident that took place in a village in Dehradun district, a young man was also injured by bullet. Police arrested two accused late in the night, while one accused is absconding.
According to the police, three miscreants reached Barwala Dumet village of Vikasnagar Kotwali area in a car with Haryana number at around 11.30 am on Saturday morning. Both of them went to the house of village woman Chuma Devi, wife of Roop Singh and started threatening the woman by showing her a pistol regarding the land issue. Not only this, the miscreants also fired in the air. Hearing the sound of firing, Jotram, son of Bagel Singh (65), an elderly resident of the neighborhood, reached the spot and started interceding on behalf of the woman. It is alleged that the miscreants shot Bagel Singh in the chest, due to which Bagel Singh died on the spot. Meanwhile, neighbor Dharam Singh’s son Atul also came to intervene and tried to snatch the pistol from the miscreants. The miscreants also shot Atul. The bullet hit his shoulder. The injured were admitted to the hospital. On information, SSP Ajay Singh reached the spot with the police team. The Haryana number car in which the three miscreants had come, left it on the spot and the miscreants looted the scooter of a young man, Anil Kumar, who was passing by the spot, by placing a pistol on his temple. The accused fled on a scooter.
Late night, on the complaint of the deceased’s son Nirmal, the police have registered a case of murder against the conspirator Rohit and three miscreants traveling in the car. A case of robbery has been registered on the complaint of passerby Anil. Police have claimed to have recovered the scooter. Police have arrested two miscreants involved in the incident from Dehradun Ring Road. One is absconding. It has been told that in a land dispute, one party had sent two miscreants to threaten them by giving them betel nuts, who then committed the murder.
