Haridwar. The property of Public Service Commission Section Officer Sanjeev Chaturvedi and other accused, the kingpin of the much-discussed recruitment scam, will be attached. District Magistrate Haridwar Dhiraj Singh Garbyal has given this order on Wednesday. Chaturvedi has properties worth more than Rs 34 lakh in Haridwar and Laksar. Tehsildar Laksar and Haridwar has been appointed administrator of immovable property.
The scam came to light in the written examination of Patwari and JE-AE recruitment conducted by the Public Service Commission. During police investigation, Commission’s Section Officer Sanjeev Chaturvedi was found to be the mastermind of the scam. Chaturvedi had taken huge amount of money from many candidates before the examination by giving out the papers and getting them to solve the papers. A case has also been registered against the accused under Gangster Act in Kankhal police station. Shyampur police station incharge Nitesh Sharma is investigating the case.
Police investigation revealed that with the money collected by selling papers, gang leader Sanjeev Chaturvedi had purchased 150 square meter land in Jagjitpur Kankhal in his name and 0.102 hectare land in Basera Khadar Laksar in the name of his sister-in-law Ruma. About 186 square meters of land was also purchased in Bhagtanpur Abidpur alias Ikkad in the name of another member of the gang, Ramkumar son of Suggan Singh.
The administration team has estimated the value of all three plots at more than Rs 34 lakh. On the instructions of SSP Pramendra Dobal, the police had sent a report to the District Magistrate to confiscate these immovable properties of kingpin Sanjeev Chaturvedi. DM Dhiraj Singh Garbyal has issued orders to confiscate the property.
