Children will participate in sports and other activities
Dehradun. There is good news for the newbies. They will be freed from the burden of carrying school bags for one day in a week. One day of the week will be no bag day in government schools. Children will go to school without bags. After government schools, a meeting will be held to implement it in schools of other boards including CBSE, ICSE.
According to Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, under the scheme no bag will be kept once a week. In which children will not bring books to school and will only do sports and other activities. Due to which the physical and mental development of children will also happen. Along with this, the Education Minister discussed about the shortage of books in government schools. He says that this year it has been decided to give free books to non-government schools to children from class 1 to 12. About 4 lakh books will be printed under this. Books will be made available to the schools after a week-ten days. Concrete arrangements are being made in the form of a book bank so that there is no shortage of books next year.
Efforts will be made to provide books to every school before the start of the academic session. Also, on the controversy over removal of some lessons from NCERT books, the Education Minister said that people are saying that history is being changed in the country. It’s not like that. History is not being changed but history is being brought to the fore in the right way
