Tiger attacked 3 youths in Surai forest, made one a morsel

The forest department had to fire to get the dead body out of the tiger’s mouth

Rudpur. The tiger attacked the youths who had gone to cut grass in the forest in the Surai forest range of the sub-division. The tiger dragged away a young man and killed him. Forest personnel fired several rounds to rescue the carcass from the tiger.
Forest department officials took the dead body and sent it for postmortem. According to the Forest Department, Kewal Singh (35) son Amar Singh, a resident of village Haldi, had gone to cut grass in the forest of Surai range on Saturday morning along with three other companions.

Around 12 noon suddenly the tiger attacked them. The tiger only dragged Singh towards compartment number 47. When the friends informed about this to the family members, there was chaos. By the time people reached the spot, the tiger youth had died and the tiger had made one of his hands a morsel. Wounds have also been found in the young man’s neck.
Sub-Divisional Forest Officer Santosh Kumar Pant along with a heavy force reached the spot and recovered the mutilated body of the youth from Kampt No. 47 of Surai range. The departmental team sent the panchnama of the dead body for postmortem
