Travel agency bus going to Dehradun overturned on Kichha Highway, 30 passengers injured, 17 in critical condition

Instead of tickets, passengers boarding the bus received visiting cards bearing the name of the transport vehicle, on the back of which the ticket price and date were mentioned.

Udham Singh Nagar. Sama Travels bus going from Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh to Dehradun lost control and overturned on Kichha Highway at around 11.30 pm. In the accident, 30 passengers traveling in the bus from Lakhimpur Kheri, Agra and Pilibhit districts of Uttar Pradesh were injured, out of which the condition of 17 is critical.
According to the police, Sama Travels bus (UK 07 PA 0427) was going to Dehradun with 50 passengers from Lakhimpur Kheri district. Ali’s younger son Wahid, who was traveling in the bus, told that as soon as they reached Kichha Highway, the driver started vomiting. On this he handed over the steering to his colleague who was sleeping in the bus.
After walking some distance, the assistant suddenly applied brakes, due to which the bus overturned. Due to this there was scream among the passengers. Meanwhile, Dr. Rohit Grover, a resident of Sitarganj, and his brother Manish, who were passing by the spot, informed the police and with the help of passers-by, took the injured out of the bus and took them to the Community Health Center (CHC) Sitarganj.
Dr. Abhilash Pandey, who is engaged in treatment, said that 30 passengers were brought to CHC, out of which the condition of 17 is critical. One passenger Shamshad Ali son of Imam Ali, resident of Haregaon Sitapur was referred to Haldwani.
In the bus accident, Sachin son of Kalicharan, resident of Bankeganj, district Lakhimpur Kheri of Uttar Pradesh, Shivpatti wife Kalicharan, Khushboo wife Sachin, Riya and Aniket son Surendra, Chhote Ali, Nihal Ali, Sakroon, Roshni resident of police station Phulbehad district Lakhimpur Kheri, Hanif resident of Gola, Kuldeep police station Mira Lakhimpur Kheri, Husn Bano, Zeeshan, Noor Alam, Farhan, Lucky resident Lakhimpur Kheri, Shamshad Ali, Deen Dayal, Akhtari resident Puranpur, Sharda and Khushi resident Manpura district Agra.
All the passengers boarding the bus did not have tickets. When the police took the information, the passengers showed the visiting card of the name of the transport bus, on the back of which the ticket price and date were mentioned. Seeing this, even the police officers were stunned. ASP Manoj Katyal said that on receiving information about the bus overturning, he went to the hospital and got information about the injured. During investigation it was revealed that the bus driver had given fake tickets to the passengers. A case will be registered in the matter and action will be taken. The responsible accused will also be arrested.
