Tunnel crossed in Devprayag in Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail project

The tunnel between Pauri Nala and Devprayag station is 1255 meters long.

Rishikesh. Under the Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail project, a tunnel has been crossed in Devprayag. Which is 1255 meters long between Pauri Nala and Devprayag station. Due to lack of open space, the 122 meter long platform of Devprayag station is inside this tunnel. The 1255 meter long tunnel has been completed in about 560 days.
Rail Vikas Nigam has got success in the construction of Rishikesh-Karnprayag Rail Link Project. Complete break through of the first main tunnel has been done. At around 1.30 pm on Wednesday afternoon, complete break through of tunnel number, which is a main tunnel, has taken place. Even before this, seven partial break throughs have taken place. On Wednesday, the tunnel between Pauri Nala and Devprayag station is 1255 meters long. Due to lack of open space, the 122 meter long platform of Devprayag station will remain inside this tunnel. Chief Project Manager Ajit Singh Yadav said that there are mainly four types of tunnels in the project, including main tunnels, evacuation tunnels, edit tunnels which connect the main tunnels to the road head and the last main tunnel and evacuation tunnel at a distance of 350 meters to 400 meters each. Connecting tunnels have been built at intervals. Yadav said that due to shortage of construction material due to Covid and the current ban on mechanical mining, the project had to be extended beyond its fixed target of December 2024. Rail Vikas Nigam has set the target of completing the railway line by 2025.
