UK visit was successful, agreements signed on investment proposals worth more than Rs 12500 crore: Dhami

Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami visited U.K. While speaking formally to the media after his arrival in New Delhi from the tour, he said that U.K. In various meetings held in the state, agreements were signed on investment proposals worth more than Rs 12 thousand 500 crore. He said that to establish better coordination between our immigrant brothers and sisters and the Uttarakhand government and to take prompt action on their investment proposals, an Uttarakhand Immigrant Cell will be created in the Chief Minister’s Office. The Chief Minister said that an agreement was also reached with the British Tourism Minister to prepare an action plan to increase the tourist movement between Uttarakhand and Britain.
Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami said that after traveling from Dehradun to Delhi and then from Delhi to Heathrow Airport on September 25, the way the migrants from Uttarakhand warmly welcomed them with Uttarakhandi customs and musical instruments at Heathrow Airport, it was in itself a special experience. It was an emotional moment. The same evening, the migrant brothers and sisters of Uttarakhand in London organized a cultural evening to welcome them. It seemed as if they were meeting their Uttarakhandi brothers and sisters not in London but in some city of Uttarakhand.
The Chief Minister said that in the meeting held with France’s Poma Group on September 26, an agreement worth Rs 2 thousand crore was signed to connect the tourist areas and remote areas of Uttarakhand by ropeway and to use this medium for public transportation. It was also proposed to work to explore the possibilities of developing the country’s first ropeway manufacturing park in the state by Poma Group. After that, in a meeting with people involved in various activities in the tourism sector at the Indian Embassy in England, an action plan was brainstormed to accelerate tourism activities in Uttarakhand and they were given information about the new tourism policy of the state. After this, K.N. An investment agreement of Rs 4800 crore was signed with the group. In the meeting held with the Lord Mayor of the British Parliament and the Vice Chancellor of the University of Birmingham, Billy Morya, the possibilities of investment in the education sector in Uttarakhand were discussed. He agreed to develop a Center of Excellence in Uttarakhand. Proposals worth about Rs 1250 crore were signed in an intensive meeting (London Roadshow) with 80 delegations of various companies for investment in Uttarakhand.
The Chief Minister said that in the intensive meeting (Birmingham Road Show) held on September 27 with 250 delegations of various companies for investment in Uttarakhand, organized in Birmingham city, known as the historical city of Britain and the center of industry and education, about Rs 1500 crore. Investment proposals were signed. In a meeting held with various industry groups working in Britain on September 28, contracts worth Rs 3300 crore were signed under agreements in tourism and manufacturing sectors. In the meeting with the officials of the German Embassy, there was a detailed discussion regarding Germany’s support to Uttarakhand in terms of technical education and skill development as well as inviting our skilled workers to work in Germany. A meeting was held with the Lord Mayor of London Municipal Corporation for technical assistance in raising funds from the bond market regarding financial arrangements to develop the infrastructure of Uttarakhand.
