Under-construction bridge near Brahma Kapal in Chamoli broken, one laborer drowned in Alaknanda, saved another


The bridge was being built under the master plan in Badrinath Dham

. A major accident took place in Chamoli on Wednesday. The bridge under construction under the master plan at Badrinath Dham broke down. A laborer working in it got swept away in the strong current of Alaknanda. While the other laborer has been saved.
Superintendent of Police Chamoli Parmendra Doval said that under the master plan, the construction of the bridge is going on near Brahma Kapal. During this the accident happened. At present the police is on the spot and the search for the missing laborer is on.
Under the Badrinath Master Plan, the construction work of a temporary bridge was going on near Brahma Kapal by the Project Implementation Unit, Public Works Department, Shri Badrinath.
During the construction work, at 12.40 o’clock the bridge under construction got damaged and fell into the Alaknanda river. Two laborers were washed away when the bridge collapsed.

Out of which one laborer Sonu, who is 28 years old, got swept away in the strong current of water. On the other hand, another laborer whose name is Raghuveer himself swam to the shore.
