Uttarakhand becomes the first state to enact Uniform Civil Code law, President approves Civil Code Bill

. Uttarakhand has become the first state to implement Uniform Civil Code law. On Wednesday, the President has approved the Civil Code Bill. State Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has given this information.
CM Dhami gave this information by posting on social media platform X. CM Dhami wrote that it is a moment of great joy and pride for all the people of the state that the Uniform Civil Code Bill passed by our government in the Uttarakhand Assembly has been approved by respected President Draupadi Murmu ji.
CM Dhami further wrote that surely with the implementation of Uniform Civil Code law in the state, along with providing equal rights to all the citizens, the oppression of women will also be curbed. #UniformCivilCode will play an important role in promoting harmony by proving the importance of social equality in the state. As per the vision of respected Prime Minister Shri Ji, our government is determined to protect the interests of the citizens and maintain the original form of Uttarakhand.
Let us inform that on 6 February 2024, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had introduced the Uniform Civil Code, Uttarakhand-2024 Bill in the Assembly. The bill introduced in the House by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had 392 sections, out of which the sections related to succession alone numbered 328.
