Murder by strangulation, police detained the youth
Haridwar. In Akbarpur Fazilpur village of Jhabreda police station area, the daughter-in-law, fed up with her mother-in-law’s nagging, along with her lover killed her mother-in-law. After hours of interrogation the daughter-in-law broke down and confessed to her crime. After interrogating the police, challan has been issued to both of them.
In a program organized at Kotwali Civil Lines, Senior Superintendent of Police Pramendra Dobal said that on February 15, the police received information that a woman Savitri Devi was found dead in her enclosure in Fazilpur village. When preparations were being made to take the woman for the last rites, her son Sonu Kumar noticed that there was some mark on the mother’s neck. On information, police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem. The police were investigating the matter.
Meanwhile, on February 27, the post-mortem report revealed that the woman had been strangulated to death. After this, while investigating, the police took into custody daughter-in-law Lakshmi and Joni, a young man who runs a public service center in the village.
After five hours of rigorous interrogation, daughter-in-law Lakshmi told that she had a cordial relationship with Joni Kumar from her village for two and a half years. He kept coming and going in the house. This thing displeased her mother-in-law. She also had a fight with her husband regarding this matter. After this, her mother-in-law started living alone in a nearby area, but her interruptions continued.
There was a wedding in the family on the night of 14 February. During this time, she fraudulently gave her mother-in-law food mixed with intoxicating medicine. Before this the latch of the room was broken. Due to which she could not close the room and she was strangulated to death. In this case, the police have recovered intoxicating pills and scarf at the behest of accused lover Joni Kumar and daughter-in-law Lakshmi. After interrogation, challan was issued to the accused. On this occasion, SP Dehat Swapan Kishar Singh, CO Vivek Kumar and SO Jhabreda Ankur Sharma etc. were present.
