17-year-old daughter saves life of liver donor’s father

Seeing the bravery of the daughter, bill was waived in the hospital, Devnandan became the youngest donor of the country

New Delhi. 17 year old daughter Devananda from Thrissur, Kerala has donated liver to father Pratish. Devananda has also become the youngest organ donor in the country. Seeing the bravery of Devnanda, the hospital even waived off the bill for the surgery.
Devananda’s father was to have a liver transplant. No donor was found due to rare blood group. Devnanda donated her liver to save her father’s life. Devananda is a class 12th student. According to the country’s organ donation rules, people below the age of 18 cannot donate organs. Devananda sought special permission from the Kerala High Court. After getting the court’s permission, Devnanda donated a piece of liver to father Pratish on February 9.
