25% syllabus in pre exam and 40% in mains exam can be related to Uttarakhand

In-principle consent of Personnel Department to conduct PCS exam course on the lines of UPSC in Uttarakhand

Dehradun. The syllabus of PCS exam in Uttarakhand can be on the lines of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The Personnel Department has given in-principle consent regarding this.
Public Service Commission Chairman Dr. Rakesh Kumar had sent a proposal to the Department of Personnel last month to make the syllabus of the PCS examination similar to that of the IAS examination of the Union Public Commission. The Commission argued that the change in the exam syllabus would be of double benefit to the candidates of Uttarakhand. Right now they have to read different types of syllabus to prepare for PCS and IAS exams. Having a uniform syllabus will make it easier for the youth of Uttarakhand to study, while their chances of getting selected in the All India Service Cadre will increase.
A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Secretary Personnel Shailesh Bagoli in the Secretariat regarding the proposal. In this, in-principle consent was given to make syllabus on the lines of UPSC. However, the final decision in this matter will be taken by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Along with the change in the syllabus, it was decided that 25 percent of the material in the preliminary examination and 40 percent in the mains examination should be related to Uttarakhand. Commission’s secretary Girdhari Rawat and other officers were present in the meeting
