Bijnor: Seven people including a newly married couple died tragically in a horrific road accident on the Dehradun-Nainital highway in Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh late Friday night. In the accident, a car hit a tempo.
Superintendent of Police Abhishek Jha said that all the people killed in the accident were members of the same family. They were returning to their village after getting married in Jharkhand. The deceased include groom Visal (25), bride Khushi (22), groom’s father Khurshid (65), Khurshid’s brother-in-law Mumtaz (45), Mumtaz’s wife Ruby (32) and daughter Bushra (10). Tempo driver Ajab Singh also died.
According to the police, car riders Sohail and Aman are seriously injured and are undergoing treatment. Police said that prima facie, the cause of the accident appears to be dense fog.
Yogi Adityanath expressed grief
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed deep grief over this accident. Expressing condolences to the families of the deceased, he has instructed the concerned officials to reach the spot and expedite the relief and rescue work.
