Anger erupted in Haridwar due to wrong comment on Brahmin society

Demand to file a case against Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Punyanand Giri by gheraoing Kankhal police station

Haridwar. During a religious function in West Bengal, the anger of the society erupted in Kumbhnagari due to wrong remarks about Brahmins.
By gheraoing the Kankhal police station, the Brahmin community demanded registration of a case against Acharya Mahamandaleshwar, Punyanand Giri, who spoke controversially. Announced his social boycott. Kankhal police station in-charge Nitesh Sharma has confirmed the registration of a case against Punyanand Giri for making caste-specific remarks on the Tahrir of Pandit Adhir Kaushik. Punyanand Giri gave a controversial statement during the Bhagwat Katha at Sri Dakshinamurti Math, 24 Parganas, West Bengal. The statement enraged the Brahmin community. On Friday, people of Brahmin community gathered under the leadership of Vishwa Hindu Parishad at Kankhal’s Jhanda Chowk. From where taking out a procession reached Kankhal police station campus. Mainly the office bearers of Sriganga Sabha and city MLA Madan Kaushik, along with the office bearers of many organizations participated in the procession.
Angry people created ruckus in the campus and filed a case against Punyanand Giri and demanded his immediate arrest. The protesters warned of agitation and said that Punyanand Giri should publicly apologize for the statement. Demonstrations are being held against him all over the country.
