Car fell into river, four people died, two people injured

An accident occurred while trying to avoid a stone falling from the mountain on Gangotri National Highway.

Uttarkashi. While trying to avoid a stone falling from a mountain on Gangotri National Highway, a car fell into the river. Four people died while two were injured in this accident.
According to the information received from the District Disaster Control Room, the car going from Uttarkashi to Dwari village of Bhatwadi on Friday evening met with an accident near Arya Ashram Laldhang and fell into the Bhagirathi river. There were six people in the car including the driver. Police and SDRF reached the spot after receiving information about the accident and launched a rescue operation. The passengers in the car, Indra Devi (51), wife of Uttam Singh, Asha Devi (41), wife of Mangaldas, resident of village Dwari and Karnlal (51), resident of Salang Bhatwadi, died on the spot. Durga Devi (58), wife of Dharam Singh, resident of Dwari, died in the hospital. Vehicle drivers Aditya Rawat (26), son of Ramchandra and Ludar Singh (20), son of Yogesh, both residents, were seriously injured. Of these, Aditya has been referred to Doon due to his critical condition while Ludar Singh is undergoing treatment in the District Hospital Uttarkashi. Before this, District Magistrate Abhishek Ruhela reached the hospital and inquired about the condition of the injured. He has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the accident.
