Kanwar Yatra will be on foot for a week, Dak Kanwar will start after July 10

. Dharmanagari Haridwar has started echoing with the cheers of Bhole. The Kanwar Yatra formally started from Tuesday. Kanwar Yatris have started reaching Haridwar from Monday itself to take Gangajal.
In the beginning, the Kanwar Yatra will be on foot for one week and after July 10, the postal Kanwar will start. In Dak Kanwar, Kanwar pilgrims reach Haridwar by vehicles carrying huge kanwars to collect Gangajal.

These things have to be taken care of

• From July 8, the traffic plan for the Kanwar Yatra will be implemented in Haridwar.

• Heavy vehicles will not be allowed to enter the city.

• It has been made mandatory for the Kanwar Yatris to carry their identity card with them.

The Mela area has been divided into 12 super zones, 33 zones and 153 sectors. Apart from two thousand policemen of Uttarakhand Police, six companies of paramilitary forces have also been deployed. Diversion plan has also been implemented to keep the traffic system smooth.
In the first week of the 12-day-long Kanwar fair, the emphasis will be on the Kanwar pilgrims on foot. After July 10, devotees will reach Haridwar by two-wheelers and four-wheelers as Dak Kanwar. From July 8, traffic from Haridwar district borders will be diverted to other routes.
At the same time, for the first time the system of QR code has been implemented to give parking information to the devotees. Police and paramilitary personnel took over the Kanwar fair duty on Monday along with Ganga worship and cleanliness campaign. District Magistrate Dhiraj Singh Garbyal and SSP Ajay Singh have appealed to the devotees coming to the Kanwar fair to bring their identity cards along and follow the rules
